"EU Interpretation Market" Lecture

"Ukraine-Europe" Linguistic Centre cordially invites you to participate in the interactive lecture "European Interpretation Market: Insider’s Perspective".

The lecture will cover, but will not be limited to the following topics:

- qualification and organizational features of interpreter’s work in the EU;
- bilingualism in the market;
- remuneration of the job (financial and legal nuances);
- job search in the EU: "If a conference booth is like the above-water part of an iceberg, then what is beneath? And if a conference booth is like a boat, then how to get on to get good views? ".

Date of the event: November 1, 2017; 19:00.

Lecture duration: 2 hours.

Participation fee: 300 UAH. Advance payment is expected.

The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Józefina Inessa Piątkovska – translator, researcher of translation, Assistant Professor of the Department of Semiotics, the Institute of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw. Dr. Piątkovska graduated from programs in Applied Linguistics and Political Science at University of Warsaw, Université Robert Schuman (Strasbourg), and Northeastern Illinois University (Chicago).

Alexievich, the 2015 Nobel Prize winner in LiteratureSince 2003, her simultaneous interpretation experience for Polish, English and Russian has included such events as Polish EU Presidency, ODHIR Implementation Meetings, International Economic Forum in Krynica, European Forum on Electronic Signature and Trust Services, Conrad Book Festival and others. Her clients are OSCE, Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Academy of National Defence, National Bank of Poland, European Accounting Association, European Centre of Culture and Communication, Polish Television, the TVN channel, Andrzej Wajda’s Film School and many others.
